An excuse to post videos

(Stop being sad! We're celebrating life! Now leave a funny comment. I can't have all the jokes here. Jesus, this place is getting depressing.)

It's been a sad past couple days in LA. First Ed McMahon dies. Hi-Yo, my friend. You gave me many good comebacks throughout the years. "Yeah she's hot..for a dude!" "Hi-YOOOO!" and etc. Do I remember watching the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson? No. But I remember you pitching Publishers Clearinghouse and making me want to be on Star Search. We never met, but you were my bud. We would have been Facebook friends if you were on it. I know it. Maybe even in the same group like "Let's get drunk and make bad decisions". You seemed like that sort of guy.

Then Farrah Fawcett died. Yet again I'm too young to have seen the TV show Charlie's Angels, but apparently according to CNN it "kicked off what came to be known as "jiggle TV," series full of pretty actresses who appeared in bikinis at the drop of a hat." I know I would have been down for this. In fact why hasn't this worked? It's 2009 dammit! Is it because Pam Anderson ruined everything with that show V.I.P.? Or Natasha Henstridge with "She Spies"? And before you ask me why I know those shows, well hello, hot chicks fighting crime. Um, yes. So suck it everyone. The only other thing I remember about Farah Fawcett was that she was a hot older chick. Hello Playboy. Not like I ever saw it or anything. Pervs. Another hot chick gone. This world is stupid.

Kojak, tell em.

Then today Michael Jackson died. Just great. I've only had 3 margaritas at work and the King of Pop is gone. Blame it on the Tron. As my friend told me today, "He is the soundtrack of our childhood." I couldn't put it any better. So he was weird. So he was flakey and made poor decisions. Whatever. His music ruled. As a kid that is a huge music nerd I love Michael Jackson. no homo. Guess what? I like R. Kelly's music too. GET OFF YOUR MORAL UNICORN.

If you don't like 80s Michael Jackson music you hate life.

The Jackson 5? He made Jermaine, Tito, Marlon and that other one look like William Hung singing with the Zack Attack. They taught me me the alphabet! My parents only had one English speaking record growing up and it was "Thriller". I try to moonwalk everyday. That joint is hard. That's what she said? I try to hit all the high notes on "Don't stop 'til you get enough." I call girls "P.Y.Ts". Why are we sad? We don't really KNOW Michael Jackson. Most kids now know him as that weird white woman. Some others know him as that awkward guy that had kids sleep in his bed naked at some place called Neverland. How about Always gettin' some land. What?!? No. But his type of music will never be made again. Sorry Justin Timberlake. We're sad because we like dancing. Michael Jackson made us dance. I'm dancing right now. Where are my pants?

Try not dancing to these jams!

Oh yeah!

You're a vegetable! Mama say mama sa mama ca sa bitches!

By far the best way to describe Michael Jackson....Soundtrack to our childhood. How true is that. I'm so sad, no matter what kind of person he became, his music was genius and always will be.

And Farrah was so inspiring. And Ed McMahon...

This week has been depressing. RIP to these three icons.

Sorry, but this is even sadder than you Father's Day post. This sucks ass. Though, part of me is glad Michael's time has come because things were probably only get worse for him in that weirdo sort of way. Hopefully he's at peace. And hopefully he's back to being a black man in heaven.

So true, he really was the soundtrack of my childhood.

I think the first album I ever bought as a child was "Bad". And by album, I mean cassette tape.

Sadly I thought I was the coolest kid in town for having that tape -- I proudly carried my boom box on my shoulder.

I am going to remember him as the music of my youth and not the freak who kept dying his skin and molesting young boys.......

"If you don't like 80s Michael Jackson music you hate life."

CNN needs to quote that right there.

Okay, I have a confession. For like the last week, I've been listening to nothing but Michael Jackson songs. I think...I think maybe I killed him.

I didn't mean to! I'm sorry!

He really was the soundtrack to my childhood. Well, him and Debbie Gibson and Paula Abdul. What?

I didn't know Ed McMahon was famous for anything but Publisher's Clearing House.

I wouldn't mind if he came to my house with a million dollars. (doesn't seem like a lot these days, does it?)

Now the Michael thing...that's sad. The dude wasn't that old. Maybe he just didn't look old because of all the work done on his face, but regardless. He was awesome...and I don't think he ever molested those kids. He was strange as fuck though.

I kind of wish it had been on a Sunday.

So that we could say 'It was Sunday. What a black day.'

he is definitely the soundtrack of our childhood. i tried unsuccessfully to recreate the dance moves in 'smooth criminal', it was pretty disastrous, but i still tried! :)

Ah Farrah, you got me through many lonesome nights.

I bawled man, no kidding, when I heard this. May he moonwalk around the stars.

Umm, I was kind of hoping you could write a post as a tribute to Billy Mays. He single handedly revolutionized late night tv for me. I owe him my life. Or maybe just my unused bottle of Kaboom!.

Michael Jackson marks the tipping point in popular music where it moved from "lock up your daughters" to "lock up your sons".
